Introduction

3D Stereo MEDIA features a 3D film festival. At its inception in 2009, the 3D Film Festival was the first of its kind in Europe, with formal competitions and significant awards. Ben Stassen, producer of “Fly Me To The Moon” and “Sammy's Adventures”, was its president for the first two years.

The primary ingredients of the festival are the stereoscopic-3D (S-3D) movies that are submitted to categories covering most genres of 3D movie production. Each eligible movie participates to the competition for its category. A jury determines the winners. The now famous “Perrons of Crystal” are awarded to the winners of selected categories.

The professionals present at 3D Stereo MEDIA will have opportunities to screen a selected set of the movies submitted to the festival.

The festival also has an appeal for the general public. Indeed, during 3D Stereo MEDIA, a commented selection for S-3D movies, including some of those submitted, will be shown in a movie theater in downtown Liège.
